The Art of Tim

It was a long and dark December

This model is a couple of firsts for me. It’s the first time I’ve converted/greenstuffed anything to this extent, and it’s the first time I’ve tried to paint fire. The sword was the main focus of conversion. The original is just silly. How it looks normally here.

[T] Austino Says:

Very, very nice, no…not very, EXTREMELY well done! That is amazing, it is much better than the original and you did a great job with the fire. Tim, Your awesome. Definably beats the Man O War’s I painted today!

[T] Torkyn Says:

wow you really done a great job on the fire nice work

[T] Edmond Says:

it’s actually ridiculous how much you’ve improved since your first miniature.

[T] Tim Says:

Its good, not massively ambitous but done to perfection, I used to play Wathammer and as I’m sure you will have seen yourself some folk can do anything and do do everything with greenstuff but first time its ace, you got plans for any other cool conversion Mr Tim?

[T] Crimson_Sky Says:

Woow. Such a difference. Really awesome job. :)

[T] Tim P Says:

Nice, any chance of getting some “in progress” pics? As a former 40ker I like nothing more than seeing a model with green stuff pre-painting.

[T] Nishido Says:

Awesome. I either love fire or hate it. Yours I love. It’s well sculpted and you’ve painted it correctly (i.e. brightest part of the flame at the bottom/centre). I hate it when people paint flames with the brightest part at the flame’s tip, it just looks odd. Yet I see it all the time.

[T] Alink Says:

Is it just me or is the orginal version’s sword smaller?

[T] kraggle Says:

I was thinking about getting started up on drawing comics, I thought for a while as a hobby, and was wondering what would be a good starter to do so, by which I mean what would be a good drawing tablet, computer, software and such…if you wouldn’t mind answering this Tim…

[T] Icefalcon Says:

urs is much better then the original. way more colour and not as dull.

[T] nunizillion Says:

Very slick my friend, very slick. the only sugestion id make is try to blend the fire colors a little more. but otherwise very solid, and a job well done on your first conversion/ modification :)

[T] Reilly Says:

The fire doesn’t look as good as I think you could have made it… but I definitely love the detail on the model as a whole.

[T] Pritch Says:

That’s really pretty =)
As said earlier it is nice to see someone who paints flames the right way around!
I see it quite often with people’s warhammer models having the flames essentially the wrong way around, tis most strange.

[T] Chris Says:

Damn it Tim, it’s you who keeps reminding me that this amount of detail is even POSSIBLE…Amazing job, and the next time I paint one of my Vampire Counts, I’ll remember to take some time to notice the little things…The very, very little things.

[T] sjruk Says:

woww…., the sword is just amazing. everytime i made my war hammer people before the paint would run :

[T] Merp Says:

yea Mr obvious the original sword is small its called sculpting…or making it look prettier lol but im too cray on this warmachine im more of a warhammer or D&D man my self but eh wat ever keeps you on your feet and productive

[T] XilDarkz Says:

Really nice, I like the fire addition.

Is that a reference to Coldplay’s Violet Hill in the title?

[T] Spinballwizard Says:

I think the Avatar looks better with the fire. The ‘jack just looks plain without it. It’s nice.

The fire’s great too, and once you start your trolls you’re going to want to come back to that on the Pyre.
