Projekt Wilderness Survival Revolution Weekend

Britanny and I had a fairly eventful weekend. On Saturday afternoon we drove up to Devil’s Hopyard state park for some camping. We met up with our friends Briana and Dan, and their friends Tom and Krista. I think I was expecting a more… woodsy campsite, but it was still a nice location. We put up the tent then proceeded to get a fire going. Dan made some pasta, while I cooked some hot dogs over the fire. We hung out, played a board game, had marshmallows. It was pretty fun.

The sleeping, not so much fun. We thought that a couple of thick feather comforters spread out on the bottom of the tent would be cushion enough, but we were sorely mistaken. I spent most of the night tossing and turning, and I woke up with a bit of a stiff back. Next time I go camping I’m going to have to remedy that situation.

We got up early and made breakfast, and then came home to relax for the afternoon. My tempur-pedic mattress was a welcomed sight, let me tell you.

Later in the day we got ready and headed up to Hartford for the Projekt Revolution tour. Along the way we used my GPS to randomly select a place to eat. It was a Japanese restaurant and when we got there we almost turned around to find someplace else, because the place looked like a dive. But we decided to check it out anyway, and inside the restaurant was gorgeous. Food turned out to be really good as well.

The concert had been going on for hours by the time we got there. There were a bunch of bands playing, and had we not gone camping the night before I might have cared to get there early enough to see some of them (Styles of Beyond, HIM). We did get there in time to see MCR.. Gerard was the most effeminate as I’ve seen him, and I’ve seen MCR live twice before. But it was a good show, and then we hung out until Linkin Park came on.

We had tickets for the pit, so we got pretty close to the stage. Linkin Park played for about two hours, and a good mix of songs from all their albums. All in all, not a bad evening.

Only one more week before I start moving to the new house. I’ll take some pictures after I get moved in.

Some weekend pics after the… break thingy.

Sushi. That thing on the right was a Volcano Maki. Had some traditional wraps underneath, and then it was piled with some spicy tuna and other fish, with a spicy mustard all over it. Very tasty.

View from the lawn.

I hate moving. Its freaking amazing how much stuff actually accumulates.

Meh.

On the comic…..”Friendly”

No Lucus doesnt have to go back to being alone and “hungry” for friendship and stuff. I’d want him to trade up.

To be full. To have abundance in his life. But most people dont know how to get there.

(Btw shifting gears, cool freakin concert. Man I love the production work they do. Where I go, they have art with the music and awesome production lighting and stuff. This hip hop concert… I digress heh.)

I almost feel bad for guys, they are told its bad to talk about stuff, go out and bang a girl and then when they do that stuff, they are bad for doing that. Now thier appetite is activated and no way to satisfy unless its another floosy.

Thats why I like being hooked up. I can pray and get fullfilled and satisfied. But its 24/7. Not to meantion my friends who are also hooked up. Like being in a living flourishing garden.

Psalm 23
John 10:10

Its like no. Dont go back to being alone and cold and hungry, It takes awhile and the right info to grow the garden but when it does. Such a joy.

Trade up trade up. ^_^

I managed to see Projekt Revolution in GA. I was a ways back, but it was still an awesome show.

[T] anon Says:

Try thermarest for your camping sleep problems. Self-inflating!

[T] Aligheri Says:

Dittos on the thermarest. Only way to get great sleep will camping. Even works alright on rocks.

[T] Mikey Says:

I am so jealous you got to be at Projekt Revolution. I was going to catch Linkin Park’s shift on the live myspace feed, but had to work. You lucky bastard. And how about random eat-outs. There’s always a story there.

[T] toxicshot Says:

That was the single most confusing thing i have read in my entire life.

[T] December Says:

Leave Jesus out of it please - seriously

[T] Dustin Parker Says:

A few weeks ago I went to Xfest and saw Buck Cherry, Hedley, Default, and a bunch of smaller bands (2 day concert). It was a blast, I’d really like to see LP in concert yet.

[T] Chris Rouse Says:

Projekt Revolution in Detroit was amazing… I was, however, a little disappointed that LP didn’t play Hands Held High. They did the first three rows of seats away to marines though, so I’m assuming it was in deference to them.
Not usually a big Mindless Self Indulgence fan, but they put on a hella-awesome show, haha.

[T] Christian Says:

I went to see them on Saturday over in Jersey and they were both awesome. I’d never seen either live before so I was a little surprised when Gerard told the guys to take their shirts off…and they did. But it still kicked ass and was a great show. My voice is still hoarse ;)

[T] Absath Says:

I know it. It was funny, Gerard was talking about something and some girl flashed him, and he stopped mid sentence to tell her to put her shirt back on. I think she was really embarrassed.
Then he asked the guys to take their shirts off. Britanny took my shirt off so she could twirl it around with all the others. It was really hot out, so it wasn’t too bad I guess.

Then during LP’s set, some dude who was crowd surfing took a nosedive right into the ground. Chester stopped inbetween songs to ask if he was alright.

[T] Christian Says:

Haha the nosediver was probably thinking “That was totally worth it because Chester asked if I was OK WOOOOO”…until the next morning when he couldn’t move.

[T] AK Says:

“crawling in my tempur-pedic..this back pain will not heal”… ;)
sounded like a blast.

[T] Ben Says:

You Are SOOOOOOOOOOOO Lucky. You Are The Best Comic Artist And Writer In The World, And You GOt To See MCR And Linkin Park. Did MCR Sing There New Or Older Songs?

[T] XII Says:

I went to the Marysville PR (the 2nd one of this tour. ^^). It was crazy fun, wasn’t it. But Gerard had a few moments that made me go WTF.

[T] Shieldsy Says:

About yer campin problems, depending on space, if you just get a flimsy double bed foam matress (bout 2 inches in height mebbe?) roll that sucker up as tight as you can and put something resembling twine around it to keep it in it’s cigar-like shape = win, comfy night, you could easily cram that in your 4×4..if you still have it.

Cheers

Shieldsy

[T] Tom Says:

Hey, Gerard went back to black hair.

[T] Tyler Says:

man, that must’ve been one of the coolest shows ever. I remember seeing them on their 2nd year of Projekt Revolution in Council Bluffs right after Summer Sanitarium. Best show I have ever been to. I wanted to go see these guys when they were more near Iowa but I never had the chance. But I think there’s an Emery/Chiodos Concert in Minneapolis Oct 22. So that will have to suffice. Good job man.

[T] Clay Says:

Tim, you are lucky you got to go to one of those concerts. I went to the Auburn washington concert, which was the one that kicked off the Projekt Revolution Tour. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. I think it is awesome that Linkin Park and MCR are so widely enjoyed. Hey man, keep up the great work on your comics. He he, Spartans……..

[T] strike Says:

damn, HIM -AND- Linkin Park?
I’m swiss. Both of them are coming to Switzerland, two different dates however. I spent a lot of money on tickets because they’re f-ing expensive over here. But I loved LP’s first swiss concert in Switzerland (few months ago) and I guess they were astounded by how many rabid fans they have in the land of cheese and chocolate.
HIM were cool too. That was two years ago. Front row, my g/f was almost crushed so I escorted her to the provisorical medial station. They ordered me to get some water for her, so I left and passed Lauri (The Rasmus). Took the chance to shake hands and tell him “Good show, man”. Damn, those obsessive-The-Rasmus-Fan-girlfriends of my g/f were sooooo jealous. Hee hee.
Good you had some fun, Tim.
