The Art of Tim

A blast from the past, err… future.

I love going through old artwork. It’s fun to see all the projects I started and never finished.

Check out this from three years ago.

Heh, “Coming in 2003″. Yeah, obviously that never happened.
Though I thought it would be fun to revisit that character, so I did a quick sketch today.

And then spent about 20-30 minutes coloring it.

It was fun, and I actually like this sketchy, rough style.

[T] Zack Says:

First post!

man, if you ever get a bunch of time off from doing CAD (Which is highly unlikely, I’m aware) That would be one of the coolest comics possible.

I love the sketchy style too.

[T] Nikolai Says:

Woah, that could be interesting, if it ever started up like you intended. But keep it in the sketchy style if you do; it seems more “post apocalyptic”.

Don’t fsck up!

[T] Arron Says:

I like this. The bottom image is sorta like Killzone meets Tombstone.

Now I gotta build a Suit of that armor…

[T] Injulen Says:

That would be the most kick ass comic ever, that art style, with that character and all the things that could be done in a post apoc world. I think I’d like to see a serious one though, with a consistent storyline, rather than a funny one. Obviously you can’t leave out all humor, but I think that that character deserves to have a serious story behind it. Just my thoughts :P Great job!

[T] Zack Says:

It should definetly be Seriously Funny.
Kinda like Dominic Deegan is.

[T] Falkirion Says:

Nice sketch. I can see some Firefly inspiration may have struck you since the character has the brown coat. Hehe although i could be wrong. Nice drawing though

[T] DARKAN 13 Says:

that would be kick ass if you accually made that comic. i think the overcoat adds some kind of mystery to it like he could just throw it off and pull out a rocket launcher or something and raped the guy he was killing

[T] Renegade_Hamster Says:

That coloured sketch is beautiful.

I see that you got rid of the useless extra pair of goggles that he had in the earlier drawing. Awwww!

That was enigmatic! People would be like:

“He don’t need goggles AND a visor.”

And then others would totally go:

“Maybe he does?”

See! It adds MYSTERY.

[T] seth Says:

that colouring style is great, a comic using that style would be killer…

[T] Paulman Says:

The revamp of that character looks pretty badass. I’m sure that’d make for a cool comic (though running two webcomics at once sounds like it’s out of the question).

[T] Brady Says:

The character kinda reminds me of the comic “Gone With The Blastwave” or, for those who dont know what that is, the artist Kimmo Lemetti, who drew Zeke for Tim a while back has his own comic. And the characters somewhat resemble that of the one up above.

Anyhow, it looks great. I was wondering though, what’s that silver and green band around his left leg for? It looks pretty sweet. I guess it just adds to the ‘mystery’ of the character, hehe.

Great work, as always.

-brady

[T] Niels Says:

The character looks quite cool. The only thing that looks odd to me, is the part of the mask around his chin. And it really reminds me of Desert Punk.

[T] Lupovski Says:

man .. what stopped you from continuing it. The char looks awesome. However with something i would not make the script funny, more of a serious post-apocalyptic thing! … anyways .. well done on the artwork as usual. You’re gonna make the big time one day dude …

[T] come'n'gone Says:

hehe, clever…what ever happened to it?no time?

[T] come'n'gone Says:

I’m curious…what software or whatever do you use to colour it?

[T] Xtrife Says:

He uses photoshop to colour the images.

Oh and that looks cool, it might easily have turned into something good if you had had the time to work on it. I really like the look of him.

[T] cooper Says:

nice i really like it, bt i would have shown more robot and less utility belt and coat.

[T] Yvonne Says:

I likey the rough sketchy style best of all. It’s been my favorite since my mother read to me, a hundred years ago, “Go Dawg, Go!”

I can see this guy being in a Firefly type ‘verse.

[T] Dustin Parker Says:

Yea, reminds me of “Gone With The Blastwave” aswell.

[T] DoomMonky Says:

Kudos, my friend. The styling and color choices are very catching. Of course, that’s the case with all your work, (that I’ve seen, of course). You’re an inspiration in my own art. Thank you.

-DoomMonky

[T] Mephystôf Says:

hey if you like that rough/sketchy style you might enjoy checking out the works of Enki Bilal. he’s got a lot of stuff out there and its VERY good. and by the way, i love the sketch, it almost reminds me of Enki, hence the suggestion. later.

[T] ethan Says:

hmmmm it looks good man and that guy is right it would make a pretty good comic! man how do you do that stuff

[T] Thief Says:

So So So So So pretty. Cant look away……..

[T] someguyudon'tknow Says:

it’s a really nice sketch though i think that it would look nicer without the coat.
the brown and red don’t exactly blend very well.

[T] apul Says:

Woo, soooo cool.

And what’s the font used in the first ?

[T] el mariachi Says:

Its a nice character. Too bad its a dead project.

[T] BrutalRage Says:

[T] Sandman Says:

I t reminds me a lot of the Fallout games. Not the bad ones like Brotherhood of Steel, but the original PC games 1&2.

[T] Vee Says:

heh, it would be great if you revisited this, maybe just made a short little comic about it. i’d read it, it sounds hilarious.

[T] BlueFox Says:

Liking the sketchy. Looks like a Firefly/Metroid/Killzone mix, tres cool.

-BlueFox

[T] John Says:

I like the sketchy style, but in the original, I gotta ask- why the visor AND the goggles?

[T] Banditman Says:

I would love this comic. Please consider picking it up again.

[T] squished Says:

Seriously dude,

If you ever get a chance I would love to see this comic, stick with the rough sketchy look it ownz. Seriously, if you ever have a chance go for it.

-squished

[T] HOKUM Says:

some serious post apo comic with this style would be really really cool…tho not maybe the short one, consisted of 4 drawings per episode…something longer…it does not have to be published often, once per month or two months would be enough,i would like to see it ;) the story is important, that would be awesome, kewl serious story, longer episodes, and nice drawings :D

[T] Studdy Says:

Megaman meets Hellboy meets Metroid.

Anyway, cool character.

[T] Flurp Says:

I seriously wish I could post my sketches online (but im techniqually challenged with that sort of stuff) I dunno, I always say im bad
at drawing BUT… other people like mine… in fact….. im tired of people asking me to draw them junk, I like to draw wht I want not
what other people do and I like your style of drawing the sketch look, but see I have a weird imagination that doesnt limit my thinking
it limits my hand to drawing something unique. You cant be limited like me you draw with your mind and hand its so awesome.
