For the holidays
I did this sketch on a 11×14 piece of bristol board for one of my roommates as a christmas gift. I thought I’d share with you. It has a few flaws, but that’s what sketches are all about.
Yesterday was fun. I took my car out for a little while, to do some quick errands. Got a lot of stares, and even a few shouted compliments. When I got home I locked and wrapped her up in the garage.
Britanny and I spent the rest of the day cooking a nice holiday dinner for us and Matt and Briana. It turned out really great, and afterwards we sat in the living room and opened presents. When we were done, we started to watch March of the Penguins, which was really good, but we started to fall asleep so we called it a night.
I’m heading up to Cape Cod today to spend the weekend with my family for the holiday.

Awesome picture of the Captain…makes me sad that Joss Whedon said in Entertainment Weekly that he has closure on Firefly and can now work on other things…the article itself made it seem like due to Serenity only grossing $25 million, that he was calling the series done…=(
He’s actually since said that EW made that up, and that he was done with Firefly (the series) and Serenity (the movie), but would be willing to go back and do more projects in that universe. There’s an article somewhere on whedonesque about it.

Your car = awesome. I’m a wannabe tuner myself and I’m working on my first generation Neon, but funds are tight and so is time, what with the crap weather and all.

Oh sure, draw sketches for your ROOMMATE, but not for ME!

It’s every artist’s curse, to work on a piece of art and only you see the flaws, when everyone else thinks it’s brilliant and doesn’t know what you’re talking about. I know, I have that myself with my art. It’s just folks, you spend all this time staring at it, wondering where to put in the next line.. in the end, there’s tons of stuff you think could have been done better if you’d only taken more time.
But sometimes, you just gotta give it a rest and call it ‘done’. You’ll always (well, ok… more very often than always) see things you don’t like about your art, and that’s not gonna change by working an extra 5 minutes on it to change a line here and there.
People aren’t even gonna notice, is my experience. Just sit back and enjoy the praise… that’s what I do, haha!
Btw… William Shatner? What the…? You MUST be in a good mood, that stuff’s depressingly bad, lol.
I dunno… maybe the fact that it’s so cheesy is why I like his album. *shrug*

I must be honest, haven’t seen any of his ‘Boston Legal’ work yet.
That Crane character of his seems to be doing a rather good job of establishing him as something more than just the good ol’ Cap’n.
A good thing indeed…. Kirk was getting too fat.
It’s kanji for “Serenity”, Master Buckly and his friends are fans of the short lived series “Firefly”
i know im being a prick and its 3 in the morning, but technically Master is used only for males 6 and under. any older and its the normal mr.

That’s a pretty awesome sketch. 
(Kanji can be used for both Chinese and Japaneseif you can’t be bothered with tones… it’s probably not completely right, tho. ‘Has been used’ is likely more appropriate)
catherine is right. the top symbol im not sure what it means…but the bottom half (the more complicated one) is a very strange form of the word “dragon”. together they probably mean “serenity”…that would at least make sense based on the drawing.
but yeah, good job as always, tim.

Also, the drawing is really good. You inspire me to do my own sketches, but I suppose you could more easily classify them as ‘garbage-thingys.’
Kickass sketch. I loved the EVE Online comic, too. I’ve had the urge to do that with some of my cargo, too.

As for the shouting… too few people appriciate an awesome looking ricer, (such as my own) over here their usually all “commawhore” drives… the rest are just bitterly jealous. My favourit response to is flick on the neons, (if its dark enough), flick the ecb over to high, drop it back a gear and burn off making sure to bov it as loud as I can. (Only reccomended for hyways… I could think of nothing more embarassing to do that and get stuck at lights 100 meters down the street. lol)
Anyways have and awesome holiday and I look foward to the animated version.

Nice sketch. The ship needs a lot of work though. You tend to mix many styles and sometimes it works beautifully while other times it conflicts. Keep up the good work though.
The only flaw I see with it is the fact that the gun Mal’s carrying doesn’t quite look like his beloved pistol. But other than that it’s a gorgeous sketch. Firefly for the win. Do one of Kaylee!
the perspective of the ship looks a bit off. at the very front, looks a bit twisted or something.

hey tim, just to tell you, you aren’t the only one waiting for a game. I placed a reservation for Zelda: The Twilight Princess around this time last year, and the game has been pushed back multiple times. So there you have it, another circle jerked game.
I just though I would say CAD kick ass, I’m sure thats not new to you but my friends and I read it everyday keep up the good work!
