The Art of Tim

Agonizing agony!

I have it.

Finally. After endless waiting, and anticipation, I have it.

It’s sitting on the desk next to me. I can reach out and touch it, if I want to.

George R. R. Martin’s A Feast For Crows.

And I have absolutely no time to read it.

*scream*

[T] Michael G. Says:

Sorry not to comment on your blog entry, but since CAD’s email to you is down…

I LOVE THE NEW FORMAT! It’s in-fucking-credible. It’s so great, i have to describe it by putting the word ‘fucking’ in the middle of it. It’s great Tim. Keep up the great site and the great comic us CADians love!

[T] Commentor Says:

The comic’s kind of strange (*cough*), but it ties in nicely with this post.

http://www.leasticoulddo.com/comics/strips/comic.gif

This url will probably change within 24 hours, but it’s the 11/08/2005 comic, and it concerns the same book.

[T] Max Headroom Says:

i never have time to read now… love the new look! _\m/

[T] Pureblade Says:

Never heard of it. Love the new site, though. Fabulous job, Pierre-Luc Brunet!

[T] VibroAxe Says:

Loving the new site, looks great Abs. I very much doubt anyone will care about a couple months of slowness. Were a patient bunch (except when you forget to update ya blog!!)

[T] StoneProphet Says:

A Feast of Crows is out?

My God man, and your wasting time breathing and not reading the book?

Bow your head in shame!

[T] StoneProphet Says:

*bangs head on desk*

For For For……

When will the English language allow me to type it correctly….when lord when……

The new site is absolutely stunning, and it’s great to see everything going so well. I’ve been a fan for quite a while, and I wish nothing but the best as CAD continues the exponential increase in popularity and exposure. It won’t be long before Winter-een-mas is printed on every calendar sold in those mall kiosks.

[T] Tumak Says:

Yea the CAD site looks incredible, slowness what slowness? runs like a cheetah on speed… that makes no sense but at the same time makes perfect sense.. Anyhow gj RSS ftw.

[T] Kristine Says:

haha.. I ran out and got that today as well. And due to classes and such I have no time for it.
But my boyfriend is reading it first anyway :)
and the CAD site looks great- good job! it took me about two seconds to adjust and realize that I liked it.

[T] arpha Says:

I picked up my copy today as well. I’m sure I scared some people as I walked down the street towards the bookstore. A friend of mine saw me and said I looked “intense”.

I feel your pain about having to wait.If it’s any consolation a good book will always wait for you.

[T] Christian Says:

I agree with the rest of the peeps here, new site has a very refreshing, yet clean look. Nothing too fancy, nothing too dull, just perfect for your comic. Also broswed the pages that were up, looks neat altogether.

People who print good books just when you’re out of time to read them are ev0l! EVIL!

[T] Mike Says:

This remind anybody of that twilight zone episode where the last man on earth breaks his glasses and can’t read the books?

[T] Cyanide Says:

At least you HAVE A Feast for Crows, Tim. I, being the minimum-wage teenager I am, am saving every penny I have for my new guitar. Which, I might add, has deprived me of numerous CDs, books, and video games *cough* Civilization 4 *cough* I’ll be trying to catch up on everything I missed during the fall/winter when Christmas comes around.

BTW, nice site design, Tim/Brian/Pierre/whoever. Looks great, esp. with my new Firefox theme.

[T] Big Dave Says:

Yeah, it is pretty. Just like me. So yeah. F’n beautiful.

[T] Smiddy Says:

yeah, new site good

grats to Pierre for fixing the issue with the google ad displaying on top of the comic in opera, even if it wasn’t intentional. hehe

[T] Shadow Thief Says:

I love the new site… but you chose a bad time (for me) to finish updating it. Today I was finishing a clock I was making, and had only a few minutes before I had to stop to get a pic for the face. I was going to go with the Ctrl+Alt+Del logo, or my fave comic (”I’ve got an acronym for you…”) but I couldn’t get the site to load. I was stricken with panic, and was also out of time. I quickly got a pic of the front cover of WoW collector’s edition and quickly Photoshopped it (I wanted the logo in colour) and bunged that on instead. But anyway… I love the new site… and what’s going to happen with the console icons at the top? I think you should have waited a few months and then gone with the PS#, Xbox 360, Revolution etc. but then that’s just me.

[T] Dave Says:

As soon as I finish Robert Jordan’s Knife of Dreams. Martin’s A Feast of Crows shall be mine.

[T] Kraken Says:

Nice one hadn’t realised that dumb googly thing had been fixed ^_^. The old site didn’t work too well in Opera this one is loads better congratulations to both Absath and Pierre great job.
And I can’t wait for that wallpaper btw its gonna rawk.

[T] Martijn Says:

‘Book’? What is this thing called ‘book’? Does it require a decent graphics card to enjoy?
Or is it a next gen console thingy?
You lost me with that word, man.

Greetz,
Martijn

[T] Martijn Says:

Actually, you didn’t even use that specific word.
That must man that, subconsiously, I know what you’re talking about.
But seriously, I can’t remember it even to save my life.
Don’t have enough RAM for the job.

Martijn (again)

[T] ermal Says:

just browising the new features of the sit and i got to say i really like the bios section

[T] Brendan Says:

I envy you-

the only place that I found aFfC was at the German Bookstore “Hugendubel”, and it was 30 euros (about 35 dollars) I, typically, only had 25 euros with me, and the store lady wouldn’t accept my kidney as a bartering chip.

Valar Morghulis to you, sir.

Oh yeah, and I like the new layout.

[T] Carley Says:

George R R Martin Rocks! Have you read R A Salvatore, or David Eddings? Good luck with finding the time. I share your aggravation.

[T] Ali Says:

Yes, David Eddings is very good as well. I would highly reccomend his books.

[T] Matt Says:

Ah, you’re the one that got me hooked on this series. I picked up A Game of Thrones on your reccomendation and have been hooked ever since. I have the delightful misfortune of telling my GF about this book and so I have to wait until Christmas to read it. Absolutely wonderful series. Thanks again for the reccomendation!

[T] Matt Says:

The book is waiting for me at home… I ordered it a year and a half ago. It’s finally arrived. (Only been 5 years.) Can’t wait to crack it’s pages.

Cheers.

[T] Rigu-chan Says:

You poor thing.

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.

[T] CitrusC Says:

George R. R. Martin’s A Feast For Crows.

Oh my, now I’m not going to be a complete bastard and say that book was incredible, but my hinting at doing so no doubt gives you an inclination to think so.

To be brutally honest, I don’t like the new site design, it looks like some sort of PHP template for a gaming news website, but as long as the comics are still easy to view, I’m not too bothered. It’s the thought that counts, and an information overhaul was certainly needed of the old site; I guess completely redesigning the site involves that!

Nice to see someone else doing the newsposts as well, varied writing styles is much easier on the eyes when reading swathes of news at once…

[T] James Says:

I have to say that as I began to read this, I actually thought it was an X Box 360 that you were speaking of. Maybe I am anticapating the launch a bit too much? Never.

[T] Arethis Says:

WOW that sucks, my freind was reading a book and his teacher took it from him for about 2 days, he was on the 5th to last page the end was so close he had to wait 2 more days just to finish it. must suck, LOVE the site can’t wait for it to be done :D

[T] Mikhail Says:

The new design is pretty cool

You need to listen to the tetris song, if it does not give a you a flashback of blocks swirming down you cannot call yourself a gamer.
I paid $6 for a precursor of gameboy with tetris on it and played it for over 600 hours giving it a penny an hour (not counting batteries).
You must listen to it.

With eternal gratitude for the webcomix.

Tetris lives forever.

[T] Ike Says:

Long time reader of the comic, and I have to say, keep up the good work. The latest story arc, hell, pretty much all the story arcs, have been pretty well crafted.

And about the book; I tend to do that, alot. I read during school when I get the chance, which is barely ever, and then outside of school I get to do things like…online things.

I think I’m going to start commenting on your blog more. :P

-Ike
“I hate real life! The graphics suck!”

[T] Waylon Says:

Wonderful job on the site. I can’t wait to see how the new icons work out, and what their exact functionality will be.

But yeah, everything is already more crisp, and as for loading times, I have ZERO complaints here.

Drop that book and check out Star Wars Battlefront 2, I am interested to hear your thoughts on it, because I love it!

[T] Sekud Says:

If you didn’t know he likes the series alot… I personally think it unlikely he will do that when he could be reading the book… xD

[T] Obike Says:

I happen to stumble here… and the first post I see refers to one of my all time favorite series… HOW THE FUCK DID I MISS THIS COMING OUT?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?! Jesus… when I have no time to read it either. I swear they plan it.

Wheel of Time and A Song of Ice and Fire are my favorite series by far, now I’m going to have to go buy it ASAP :)

[T] Ryan Says:

Oh man, i didn’t realize AFFC was out already!!!
ahh *runs to store*

[T] Sekud Says:

I have the book too, and likewise no time. It sucks, I preordered the damn thing in June, when I had tons of free time, and ironically I have no free time now that I have it, I feel for you Tim, really I do. I took the time to reread all three books and now I am dying to find out what’s going on after the third one, hope you find some free time to read soon, I found out about the series thanks to you so I hope you get to read it.

[T] Blink Says:

i Have to thankyou for the bottom of my heart for introducing me to that book series, i fucking love a song of ice and fire, and i really
hate to be a bastard, but here in aus we’ve had it for 2 and a half weeks :) sorry, i really hope you find the time to read it.

and the new site looks great by the way, and come to australia allready so we can kick your ass in halo :P

[T] TheKingslayer Says:

I took the day off work to read the entire book, I love it. Now he needs to put out A Dance With Dragons.

[T] Ali Says:

Oh, my, yes. You’ll have to write an update about how good it is when you are finished reading - my friends and family have refused to let me buy the book, because Christmas is coming soon. So, I have to wait and see if I get it as a gift, and then buy it, if I don’t. Ugh.
I’ve been loving the comics, though.
