The pain
Britanny and I went to the shop yesterday to take some pictures of my car. It’s hard for me to see it like this, but I want to get some in-progress shots for posterity. Still a long way to go, but they’ve done a lot of the general body work, and cut in one of the NSX side vents.

The guy that I got to do the project has been working with fiberglass for 30 years, and has had his own shop for 20. He does a lot of custom fiberglass work for cars.
He’s got a Datsun 240Z, (the original import tuner, and a beautiful machine, for those of you that don’t know cars), that he got in 1976. It has a fully custom front end, as well as a new rear bumper and rear window made just for the car. He used to take it to shows all over the US and Canada.

And he also owns (my personal favorite in his shop), a Delorean (the Back to the Future car)! Until this, I had never seen one that wasn’t the regular steel gray color. It was in an accident, but he’s restoring it. He makes Delorean parts out of fiberglass for companies all over the place. I’ve only ever seen three of these in person, and only one was on the road.

I agree, tis awsome… steal it!!!
After he’s finished the work on your car o’ course
I heard that datsun (now known as nissan) had some serious rusting problems with their early Z models :/, but over all it’s a fine representation of one of the first popular japanese sports cars. As for the DeLoean, thats something special.
thats pretty sweet. is there only 1 model for the dalorean? ive only known 1, didnt know if they made other models.
I love Deloreans… in elementary school, there was a kid whose dad owned one. We are all SO jealous of that kid, because his dad would take him to school every morning in “Marty McFly’s car”.
We were also convinced the car could travel through time.
ooo, what shop is this exactly? and would you consider joining Fusion Car Club? We’re based outta Hartford but we have car shows and races all over the state. One of the members who just joined has a MX-3 the same color as your parts car. We get discounts from several parts places and just set up a deal with Firestone tires. Check out our site: http://fusioncarclub.com/index2.html
Glad to see your car work getting underway
Wow, yeah, I’ve never seen a red one in my life. A guy has one down the street from me, just regular steel though. I see him all the time at Dairy Queen. Isn’t it sad to see the car like that?
whoa …Delorean sweet man. Should have took one more, but you said it was banged up. The Datsun looks sweet, but dusty >_
The car is looking great but…. damn man, I miss your sketches lol. They were an inspiration to keep me on a daily practice sketching deal. I need the practice too lol. You gonna be showing us anymore sketches soon?
I’ve only ever seen the Delorean at Universal Studios Hollywood. Lucky..
But that first picture reminded me of Monster Garage. Too bad you don’t have five guys working on your car for tool sets with a week time limit.
that shit is wild. ps hurry up and do another comic.. we wanna see what happens to Zeke
My dad owned a Datsun, can’t remember the model though. He wanted to get it fixed up and stuff but never got around to it and ended up selling it. And the Delorean is just so awesome, I’m a huge fan of the Back to the Future trilogy. Can’t wait to see your car when it’s all finished and everything.
that shit -is- wild. Deloreans are possibly some of the coolest cars around, and the Datsun is even cooler than that… Doesn’t get much better.
My father almost bought a Delorian, but it needed some major work and we weren’t quite in the financial situation we are in now, so we coudln’t afford it. It is a sweet car, but the reason you don’t see any that are painted is because it’s brushed stainless steel and you don’t have to. I know if I owned one, I wouldn’t paint it.
are you saying that your rich now but were poor then…wait ur rich? or did i read that wrong
Your car is coming out real nice. I like the datsun though, Im restoring a 78′ 280z myself. It’s hard to wait for a nice car to come out of the shop, hope your baby is finished soon.
man….thats just mad….WOOOOOOAAAA u think u can steal that car and email it to me?
BTW i like the storyline of the comic right now! Makes me logg on to CAD every hour =)
That’s cool, I like the datsun, very superlicious haha.
Yea, I’m going to Connecticon also, hope to see you there.
Is there some kind of connection between your ripped up car and the broken X-bot?
wow i never realized that but good point the comic could be his way of expressing his pain and suffering through ethan and Zeke
yea yea….but see , it REALLY sucks! that zeke got all destroyed , my idea of him somehow coming back to life is if he comes to ethan as a zombie and then it turns out to be a dream…would be pretty cool…sorry if i gave it away lol
My mate has a 76′ 240z, beautiful piece of machinery. Has a custom underside (due to that rusting issue mentioned earlier) Now its hella light, and is putting out almost 300bhp (drooling).
I was hoping Zeke would be rebuilt using that ps2 (lol gay robot)
A Red Delorean what the fuk how is that possible.
They were only made in 2 colors, Grey and gold, And making ifber glass parts for the delorean dosnt even make it a delorean any more, the whole thing that made the car was that it was made of stainless steel and never rusted.
Hehe, now you and Hawk can duke it out with your newly turned evil robots! (Presuming Zeke is actually evil now. If he was an X-box 360 with red eyes, would that make him albino?)
Anyways, those cars are freaking sweet. I guess you aren’t suffering financially from merch sales to do that kind of custom work. It must be hard to see your car like that now, but it’s going to be awesome when it’s done!
I own a 240Z, and a 300ZX, beautiful machines indeed. Can’t wait to see how your baby looks after she’s all done and finished and ready!
Nice, do you go to any Tuner events?
i go to alot to take pictures and hang out with a few models i know. and im about to be hired by importculture.com as a photogrpahy
hey, just wanted to chime on the delorian aspect, as there seems to be some confusion, delorian was made BY delorian, only one modle, made from 82-83 ( i belve those were the only two years) as far as prices, i have heard of them selling for as little as 12k running, but unknown condition, to some wild reports of up to 84k. the painted delo’s were a vast minority, as it was an 80’s sports car. yah, thats rihgt, it was designed to be a sports car, lol. the shape was quite revolutionary, as it made a roll-over neigh imposible, and added to stability during fast turns. however, due to irish enginering, or delorian’s own cocain habbit, they decided to make the car body out of stainless steel. good idea, since now the car can baraly reach 88. and yes, it really is a strain and a half, i should know, since i had to drive mine all last summer, lol. if any of you all live in the chicagoland area or are visiting, drop me a line, and you can take a look, and maybe a ride, time/weather permiting (the thing fishtails like CRAZY in even light rain) anyhow, hope this makes a few fan’s days about the delorian. BTW, there IS a book called delorian with the whole story.
loki you dont have a delorean, because you didnt even spell delorean right and it says it on the left side of the bumper, and how can you tell if it gets up to 88 or not because the speedometer only goes to 85, and stainless steel doesnt weigh much more than steel panels on a regular car. The delorean was only made from 1981 to Christmas day of 1982 and the later models were classified as 83’s. John Delorean didnt do coke, he didnt even sell it, he was set up by the FBI.
4 day’s till my birthday, 4 day’s till my birthday
I hope i get a pineapple
Oh shit! Delorean! Awesome, awesome to the max.
