Broken on the surface

So I picked up the first season of Miami Vice on DVD. This is one of my guilty pleasures, buying television series on DVD and then gorging by the season. And now I am in possession of 22 episodes of Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas goodness. The 80’s soundtrack, the clothes, the cheesy lines, all of it is mine. And it fucking rocks.
I started planning my birthday celebration today, sending out invites and whatnot. This thing is going to turn into a who’s who of webcomics, which was exactly the plan. A webcomics convention without the annoyingness of convention stuff. No panels, no con preparation, just three days of gaming, movies and more with my friends and peers. This is my birthday present to myself. And as Brian Carroll pointed out to me, it starts on April 1st, which is when Sin City comes out, so we’ll probably all pile into cars and ambush a movie theater. And from then on out it’s anybody’s guess as we fire up four networked Xboxes and four big-screen televisions for a weekend of craziness, ending on Sunday when I turn 24. Should be a fun way to start off the month.
“All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring.”
Invisible Monsters
Your Art Rules!!! everything that you draw ive wanted to do something similar before.
can i have one quick piece of advise,
should i prctice skethces like with all the lines and stuff and then move on to more advanced things?
lol, love that quote! And I’m deffinitely with you on that guilty pleasure of yours. Hehe, and I wonder where all my pay goes, when I walk home with a box set of TV Series and 3 new release Xbox games every week
;P
I like the way your planning out your birthday. Sounds like a hella of a fun time ^^. And there is nothing with that guilty pleasure man, its one to be proud of and where is tht quote from, its hiliarious. Have a great birthday when it happens.
Holy crap, you’re only 23? I figured you were like 25 or 26. I need to do more o.-; Enjoy the fun weekend.
Meh, I thought he’d be like that. What age did you start to do Ctrl+Alt+Del? Because looking throught the pictures, ur art has developed
As I will no doubt lack the enthusaism to bother emailing/posting in the forums/comments on the day - Happy Birthday, Tim.
The quote is from “Invisiable Monsters.” A kick ass book from the author of “Fight Club” Chuck Palahniuk… Tim sounds like one kick ass way to celebrate the party… last year I did something like that and plan to make it an annual thing.
-The Croix Man
Sweet dude…Chuck Palahniuk rules. Have you read Choke by any chance? That is by far the most quotable book ever…so much so after the 5th time I read it I went back through with a hi-lighter…though…I’m too lazy to run up and grab it to finish this comment the way it should be…with a memorable Chuck quote…lol (laziness hurts…when the pain comes from being too lazy to get up to use the bathroom (/poop))
Plans sound sick (thats a good thing, if you dont use that phrase in America). Envy. Turning green…
Haha! I do the same thing with DVD Boxsets, I think I must have at least 100 of them now.
oh the many hours wasted watching episode after episode.
I do hope you have a lovely birthday. Twenty-four is…. well, special in that you’ll only be twenty-four once. Other than that, it seems pretty damn not special. No offense meant.
On an equally bitter note, if that particular quote were true, most of the people I know would be very, very dead.
My friend is a freelance graphic artist and he LOVES box set series. his job requires him to be stagnant at his computer desk for hours and hours at a time, so popping in a season of 24, 6 feet under or what have you passes the time a lot more than a short 2 hour movie.
He says movies often bore him to no end now, as he finds them too short.
The last time i went on tour with his band for a few weeks, a portable DVD player and mucho box sets passes the time very quickly on 12 hour drives.
and yes. Chuck P rules. I have every book and even an autographed Lullaby.
Survivor is my favorite and would make such a great movie.
They are going to make a Survivor movie. They had plans to do it a couple of years ago, but it took a backseat because of 9/11, and a lot of people figured that a movie about a plane crash wouldn’t do too well.
I loved Invisible Monsters, and they’re making a movie of that too, with Jessica Alba (I think) as both Shannon and Brandy Alexander. It’s going to be sick.
BTW, Happy 24th.
I am so pumped up for that movie. The choice of actors/actresses didn’t thrill me, but after watching the trailer and the comic con footage, i changed my tune. They all seem to fit their characters, surprisingly enough. Except Josh Harnett. Man i hate that guy. I’m also worried about Ellijah Wood, despite the fact that his character is a mute. I just can’t see him being sinister.
