The Art of Tim

It was a long and dark December

This model is a couple of firsts for me. It’s the first time I’ve converted/greenstuffed anything to this extent, and it’s the first time I’ve tried to paint fire. The sword was the main focus of conversion. The original is just silly. How it looks normally here.

This is the way

So my friend’s birthday is next week. He’s my primary opponent, and basically taught me how to play Warmachine. He plays Khador, and has every Warjack save for the Marauder. So, for his birthday, I decided I would get him his Marauder. I figured that if there was any model he wouldn’t mind having someone else paint for him, it would be this one, since it’s essentially Khador’s red-headed stepchild.

It was my first (and hopefully last) Khador model, and my first ever attempt at battle damage. It was a fun model to paint. Wish the pics were better, kind of took them in a hurry.

Sketched this up while watching ‘There Will Be Blood’. Excellent film.

As I spy from behind my giant robot’s eyes

I’ve got sketches from the weekend, I just haven’t scanned them in yet. Spent my entire day off on Saturday trying to finish my unit of Idrian Skirmishers. For May I challenged myself to paint a Devout and a full unit of Idrians plus the unit attachment. I just finished, a day and a half late. The Devout took me two days. The rest of the month was spent working on fourteen Idrians. I figured since I was already painting twelve models (full Idrian unit with UA), I may as well throw in the extra leader and skirmisher, so that I could field two minimum units if I ever wanted to. It was… an experience.

I’m playing the Idrians in a game later today, and all I want to do is Advance Deploy them out into the field and then shoot them in the back with my Redeemer.

Fourteen models might have been biting off a bit more than I can chew, and I’m probably going to restrict myself to ten at a time, max, from now on.
