Tasty
I love going through old artwork. It’s fun to see all the projects I started and never finished.
Check out this from three years ago.

Heh, “Coming in 2003″. Yeah, obviously that never happened.
Though I thought it would be fun to revisit that character, so I did a quick sketch today.

And then spent about 20-30 minutes coloring it.

It was fun, and I actually like this sketchy, rough style.
Oh man, what the hell was I thinking.
So this past weekend I had a bunch of people over, sort of like a party. On Thursday Britanny and I went out shopping to pick up some provisions. We went to a wholesale club to get bottled water and stuff for people to drink, and also chicken wings, shrimp, etc to snack on. Unfortunately we did it the way you’re never supposed to go food shopping- hungry.
So I’m walking through the frozen food section, and I see a box of frozen White Castle cheeseburgers, and for some reason it seemed like a good idea. My only defense is that I may have been delirious with hunger.
Anyway, tonight I popped a couple in the microwave to try them out. It was an awful experience. The bread was soggy, the cheese was boiling, and the meat was frozen. I’ve never tasted anything quite like it. This was four hours ago, and it still feels like I’m eating them. My whole central nervous system is on the brink of self-destruction. Anabolic shock can’t be far off.
I probably shouldn’t have eaten that fifth and sixth one…
Anyway, the party was fun. Our friend Mookie is moving to Texas for a year, so I wanted to get some people together and hang out one last time before he moves to a red state. We hung out, had a good time. Some pictures were taken Saturday night, which I’ll share with you.

Here we are in the living room playing some card game about beans. Bohnanza or something. It was fun. That’s me with Yuko (far left) and her boyfriend Brian (far right). The mysterious person behind the cards is also a Brian, but getting pictures of him is a tough endeavor.

The Mookster himself, along with a third Brian, Aaron and Matt n’ Briana.

We went out for sushi at this good place Britanny and I know.

Damn, almost.

Britanny and I. I look thrilled, don’t I? I was kind of tired.

So close!

Philly roll, Boston roll, shrimp tempura roll, and Mango Tango roll.

Heh, got ‘im. Brian is actually a robot, for those of you unaware. Here he is trying to ingest human foods, and his hardware is unable to cooperate with the commands.

Back at the apartment, Mookie fends off an overly affectionate puppy. At least that’s our story, to keep this picture as least scandalous as possible.

I had a vegan carrot cake made in Mookie’s honor. It was made of grass and dirt.

There was, amongst other games, plenty of Guitar Hero.

Kaylee.
It was a good time.
Now I’m back to work, organizing and pushing projects out for production left and right. Fun fun.
In case you hadn’t guessed, I’ve had to put daily sketching on hold again for a time. Somehow the end of summer snuck up on me, and there are a lot of projects I need to get out the door to have them ready in time for Christmas. Other things come into play as well, such as an end-of-summer party here next weekend for a bunch of my webcomic friends from up and down the east coast. So I’ve got to get comics done ahead of time, and also clean and prepare my apartment to host a dozen people for the weekend. All in all, I have to cut uncessary projects to get everything done, so I won’t be doing daily sketches until September.
Britanny was in Scotland for a week on vacation, and she’s back home now. She had a lot of fun. She brought me back some presents- various bits of Scotland such as coins and cookies, as well as a flask with Celtic knotwork on it. She also got me a really cool coaster which has my Irish family crest on it. Most importantly I’m just glad to have her back though.
Kaylee is doing great. She’s 7 months old now, and as adorable as ever. She was spayed last month, but that didn’t slow her down at all. She came through it perfectly though, and so she’s all done with major vet visits for a while.
I’ll get around to posting new pictures sometime soon, hopefully.
Heh, goofin’ around with Diesel Jesus.
